Mapas del Corazón: A Visual Cartography of Chicanx Literature
As a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of New Mexico’s Center for Regional Studies, I am developing a public-facing, community-engaged platform to accompany my book manuscript—one that invites residents to contribute oral histories, images, and narratives documenting the spatial transformations and urban displacement affecting their neighborhoods. This multimedia initiative will serve as a living extension of the book, keeping local knowledge central to the project while advancing a body of scholarship that treats literary production as both a cultural archive and a form of spatial resistance in historical Mexican American communities across the U.S. Southwest.
This project is in progress and will be posted on this page later. Stay tuned!
